Networking

When people talk about “computer networks” all sorts of phrases pop up and things can get very complicated very quickly leaving you baffled by technology.

Networks can be used to provide simple internet sharing and printing solutions or can offer a centralised administration and management system for your business allowing data, resources, internet connections and much more to be shared
between many users.

We can advise you on what type of network is suitable for your business, what impact it will have, and the benefits to your business. We can advise, supply and install your network, maintain it and repair it meaning you only have to deal with one company.

We offer an extensive range of wireless, and wired networking, and can even offer Virtual Private Networks (VPN) allowing you to access documents at your office from the comfort of your own home.

Wireless Networks

Wireless refers to the way your computers connect to the network, and it can provide flexibility within your workplace, allowing laptops users to work anywhere there is desk space – even outdoors. Wireless capabilities can be added to any computer system, however wireless laptops are generally more popular as users can work remotely from any wireless internet connection.

From install local wireless systems for internet and server access through to point to point links to connect a remote site. We have a lot of experience connecting remote offices, windfarm SCADA systems or even a link from your house to an office at the bottom of the garden.

We can provide a full site survey and quotation for all your business network requirements, why not give us a call on 01455 611557 and find out more?

Network Switches

Network Switches connect all of your business systems together – to each other, to the internet, to your CCTV systems and much more.

Any Switch will connect things together however there are other consideration, speed, throughput and other features such as PoE which can be incorporated into your decision.

A gigabit (1000Mb) switch is great and will provide fast speeds, but as you increase the devices you also need to consider thoughput (can it actually process all that data),should you add a switch, replace a switch, will it cause a bottleneck and slowness? Did you know you can also use a switch to make sub networks for hotels so you can use the same switch to conenct your core business network and guests?

We take care of all of this for you. We can investigate your systems, find out what data you passing through, number of devices and recommend, supply & install the right switch for your business, we even take into account expansion and can save you making costly choices int he long term.

POE (Power Over Ethernet)

POE is a system that allows devices (Such as IP Surveillance Camera’s) to be powered with just a network cable. You need a special (not expensive) network switch, and a POE enabled device and where traditionally you would need a network cable and a power socket, you can just have a network cable – and that’s it, simple!

If you have an office with VOIP telephones, CCTV (IP Surveillance), door opening systems or other similar IT systems we can look at installing a PoE switch which will power these systems over a network cable – the advantage? You do not need to have an electrician install costly mains cable and you don’t need unsightly and untidy power adaptors to power devices.

If you would like to discuss how we can save you money and simplify your systems with a PoE switch please call us on 01455 611557

Virtual Private Network (VPN)

VPN’s (Virtual Private Network) allow users to work from a remote location such as home and access your office computer systems as though they were in the office. A VPN can give a user access to printers, Documents and programs on your internal business network and is becoming increasingly popular. Microsoft Small Business Server includes VPN software.

Many businesses no longer need VPN’s for standard file access due to Microsoft Office 365, however if you have some software at your business you need to connect to, then a VPN is a secure way of doing this.

If you need advice on the best way your business can work with remote working  staff please contact us on 01455 611557.

Microwave Networks

Microwave Networks are high powered wireless networks that can cast your network’s data across long distances where a standard network could not reach without repeaters. While you could run a fibre optic cable across these lengths this becomes expensive and has more points of failure compared to the Microwave Network. This works by having an antenna that would broadcast the wireless signal and then other antennas connect to that wireless signal to establish the long-distance link.

Wireless point to point links can easily cover 10Km or more and can be used to share data from your office or connect remote sites to the internet.

We can provide consultancy, products and support on remote sites and inter-building microwave links and have experience providing wireless links for logistics, wind farms, farms and a lot more.

If you have two or more sites and you think your business would benefit from linking them together please do not hesitate to get in touch on 01455 611557

Firewalls & Security

A firewall is your business defence from malware, virus and hacking attacks from the internet. It sits in between the internet and your business systems. A good firewall if essential for any business.

Almost all routers come with a basic level firewall, however these are not updated with any regularity and only give basic protection. We offer both basic business firewalls and more advanced firewalls suitable to all businesses and can consult with you about which is correct for your business requirements.

If you are concerned about business security, need assistance with configuring your firewall, need a larger firewall or the ability to fully manage your business security we can help.

If you have two or more sites and you think your business would benefit from the protection a good firewall can offer then please do not hesitate to get in touch on 01455 611557
